"When you’re young, thunderstorms seem scary. Like the sky is angry at you. But now that I’m older, something about its roar soothes me; it’s comforting to know that even nature needs to scream sometimes."

New York City - Skyline Sunset - Brooklyn Bridge and Lower Manhattan

—-

Those were

the sunsets,

the ones

where the city

held the sun

in its palms,

holding on to

summer’s warmth

for as long as it could;

cupped palms

full of light,

and promise

of days

without end

and nights

that barely

dreamed

of autumn.

——-

* This was taken with my Sony A7 while balancing on sea-legs on a boat whizzing past the New York City skyline at sunset, an experience I highly recommend.
